The St Petersburg Model

Thanks to Alex, at the St Petersburg naval museum, we now have dimensions for the model. Basic stats first, a history of the model, and two photos of the model - 1929 and 2007, after restoration.

Dimensions:

Keel: 469 mm

Breadth: 170 mm (outside of planking, but excluding wales)

Height between decks: 36.5 mm (forecastle) and 39.5 mm (poop)

Length: 525 mm (after end of poop to forward end of focsle)

Length OA: 543 mm

The model’s history:

First appeared in museum inventories 1809

First identified as ‘Royal Transport” 1866

First photos & description published in England, Germany, etc 1920s

Restored 1988
